...November 2012 a Threading Hope delivery to Colombia.... Thank you to The Muskoka Foundationfor brinig to our attention to a community in need about 2 hrs west of Bogota. Working with Fundacion Construyendo Suenos, Bogota, Colombia.
The rural communities known as San Javier and San Joaquin y el Municipio de la Mesa are approximately 2 hrs from Bogota and we worked with the entire family unit delivering 20 hand made quilts and 5 blankets to multiple generations within the entire community.
Many of the quilts accepted by the youngest in the families as the families were in the city for the week working, as young as 7 years old collected the quilt for their entire family! We also delivered to an elder home for those that have been kicked out or left without a home, they have nothing and no one. Many did not have sheets on their beds, these quilts will bring comfort for many years!
Thank you to those who have sent us quilts for this project: Do Good Stitches Phyllis Eikenberry New Life Fellowship quilt group Mary Ellen Stocksdale
We are always accepting donations and go on a Threading Hope delivery at least once a year, so if you are in process in making a donation please see our donation page...we would love to carry your work to children and families in need.
