Projects of Threading Hope

Ideas:
→ Bali, Indonesia -
→Working with "Abandoned Children" orpahange in LaAyoune, Morocco we would like to provide bedding for the 120 orphans that currently reside at the orphanage. I was able to visit the orphanage at the end of 2009 and they have infants up to teenages, and all are very caring children, it is an orphange that values the traditions of the children and have arts and cultural items around the rooms to remind them of where they came from, all across the country!
2012
Project is in the planning to occur before the end of 2012. We are working with the Muskoka foundation. We are off to Colombia
2011
→Paragachi, Ecuador scheduled for Dec. 2011! We will be working with Entre las Estrellas (Among the Stars) is located in the Chota valley north of Quito, a dusty small town where poverty is very high.
→Hand made quilts will be donated to Partners in Hope for the new In-Patient Ward in Malawi, Africa. ( www.partnersinmalawi.org ) A non-profit Organization seeking to promote awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Malawi and help Dr. Perry Jansen’s medical work with the epidemic and the Partners in Hope Medical Center he founded in 2001. We are very excited to provide quilts to the new unit and help comfort and ease the pain of the hospitals “sickest of the sick.” We will be hand delivering the donated quilts directly to them in Malawi.
2010
→Hand made quilts will be donated to Haiti to help rebuild the lives of many in need, we are going to help provide the bedding to families as new homes are built and lives resurrected. We are accepting donations constantly and as we we get families that need us and full boxes of quilts we will be off and running to get to them as quick as possible! Thank you for your support. Thank you to MMRC-Haiti for your support and helping make these deliveries possible.
2008
→ Individualized quilt donated to the International Day of Peace parade and celebration in Ajo, AZ to support the idea of peace and hope worldwide. (This specific quilt was designed and constructed by quilt artist, Kristina Green). Threading hope was honored in displaying this quilt in their annual parade 2008, 2009 and 2010- as the lead of the parade.
→Personalized quilt made for Nathaniel “Nata” Ortiz Rodriguez of El Salvador. Nata is an 11 year old burn victim that has been brought to the United States to receive reconstructive surgery to help correct the damage an oven fire caused when 85% of his body was burned. This quilt was given to him upon arrival in Texas and helped him through his hospital stays and went home to El Salvador with him. (This quilt was designed and constructed by Kristina Green)
